Tryout Details

The Arizona Suncats is striving to develop the top softball program in Arizona. Our program is run like an MLB farm system, girls enter into our program on one of our five teams; 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u or 18u then as they develop they move up through the organization. No one is left behind but everyone must compete to be on the field come game time.

All of our teams practice together, bleed together and win together.  Our girls attend leadership events, give back to their local community, and most importantly they pursue a path towards their secondary education.

On the field, our teams are directed by Kirsten Voak & Jon Malgradi former D1 Softball Coaches and D1 Athletes.

Each team roster maintains 15 active players.  Having rosters of this size allows us:

  • The opportunity to challenge each lineup spot on a regular basis.  We firmly believe that no one player owns a spot on the field.
  • Ensure ALL playing time is earned
  • Every practice matters as we strive to create an environment that fosters competitive learning
  • Our players come to understand that their performance during practices directly relates to their opportunities to play in each tournament
  • We feel it is the best way to prepare our athletes for college by expecting the highest level of play and providing them with top competition

A College Plan

100% of all our graduating athletes have gone on to college as a student-athlete playing softball with a scholarship to play! We are the only Arizona program with 100% success rate!

All the players on our teams must have college ambitions.  At the start of the season, we meet with the girls to go over where to begin, how to prepare, player expectations and parent expectations.

The recruiting process for all athletes continues to become more competitive, and it seems to start earlier and earlier.  We help you navigate these waters and help you to understand what it takes to get recruited.  Simply showing up at camps or playing in a showcase will not get it done, let us teach you how to get recruited.

Every single player in our organization is being watched by multiple college programs. Our coaches have built long-standing relationships with many college coaches who specifically come to watch our teams play, practice, and compete.
